Here is my 1.8 Eunos Roadster which I am slowly turning into a capable skid car. Just really needs a cage and a couple of good seats now.

You mean it will require driver skill instead of the high-speed rolling burnouts that entail a lot of 'drifting' these days?It has pretty similar stats to an AE86, and they're popular enough!

It'll need a good set up then you'll have it sideways but will struggle for power no doubt about it, most AE's run high comp throttle bodied engines that rev ridiculously high.
it requires the big balls and lots of commitment technique but its a lot more fun to drift than big power turbo cars imo, and teaches you far more about maintaining momentum and control. you can't get epic tyre smoke and big 4th gear drifts but then that would make it a much more expensive hobby lol. :-)

Well your profile says you're 17 years old (with a fwd Vauxhall), which at a glance would suggest you don't know anywhere near as much as you think you do. Of course you need power for long, sustained high speed drifts, but I've visited MX5 lock stops at standard power levels enough times to know how much sideways fun you can have without much power.
