This was a completely unexpected purchase - but came across it when just having a browse at 0214 this morning because my sleep is crap currently due to the meds I’m on, and saw how close it was, and had to go and see it…

Made contact; went down this afternoon, had a good look over it, took it for a spin with some fast driving and hard on the brakes etc, doing the usual due diligence and couldn’t fault it at all.. TBH as soon as I saw the first picture as below, I was sold laugh

It’s now home and on the drive; full oil & filter change tomorrow with a flush to begin with and I’ll probably give it a lick of Ceratec

It needs a thorough deep clean, inside and out. The tyres need a good scrubbing to rid the fecking horrible tyre shine rolleyes and the first job really will be new tyres and bin off the horrible Bridgestone RFTs… I might look to see if my pal can fit in the wheels for a full refurb, but if not they’ll just have to wait for now

Once I’ve given it a good clean I’ll get some better pics up - for now, this is your lot wink

Cheers - never seen this colour before, its BMW A76 ‘Deep Sea Blue Metallic’ - I’m sure it’ll look amazing once I’ve washed it and gone over it with the DA sometime in the very near future

You bought one smile looks lovely, that blue suits it well. How's the interior on it? Being a 2009 it should have the updated CIC?

A little remap never hurts with these!

Lovely looking thing. If it’s never had thermostats, consider replacing them. If I recall correctly the DPF needs to read a specific temperature range in order to regenerate and failing thermostats will hinder that.

That is lovely, the bangle era BMW's are really ageing well in my eyes (or maybe I'm just ageing...) and I knew you'd be back in another BMW after getting rid of your last one wink

It'll be nice to see what you end up doing with it, the M57 is apparently pretty bulletproof (my mate has a 530d on 220k with a whopping big turbo bolted to it) so should respond nicely to some fettling and a map!

It'll have to do for now; it's a good 6ft'er currently biggrin

It needs a good polishing, stone chips sorting and alloys need a full refurb; but all in good time

Yup; had a look at a few and then as soon as I saw this; with all its history and recent work (inc thermostats, autobox service etc); it had to be bought biggrin

And yes, it has the latest CIC with the hard drive rather than DVD etc

A remap may be on the cards; but other bits that it needs doing yet; so all in good time smile

Agree Paul; there was a Jap import E60 530i that was appealing to me, but someone beat me to it; and then this came across my path and as soon as I saw it, sat in it and took it for a spin, I was going to buy it

They have aged very well now; on the right suspension (probably Bilstein B12s) and the right wheels, they look timeless

Fortunately they've been done in 2023 when it had the autobox service too; it threw some codes, so it got sorted; along with a brand new OE BMW battery

And it's last regen was 90miles ago, after reading the codes last night, doing some coding and reading some live data. So very happy with that

Knew it wouldn't be too long until you'd have another BMW to tinker with Dan! Looks absolutely lovely, BMW do make some great blues. Are they the original wheels for the car? Don't think I've ever seen another E63 with them, they suit it really well though.

CIC iDrive is a nice bonus too, IMO it's still really good to use and the only thing that really lets it down is the sat nav sometimes taking some pretty questionable routes. Worth updating the maps if they're out of date, all you need is a 32gb USB formatted to FAT32 and there's guides on the US forums to generate an FSC code and get the updated files downloaded- both times I've done the update it took about 40 minutes, which I just did on a longer journey where I knew where I was going- you can still use the rest of the system while it's updating. Sadly 2025-2 is apparently the last mapping update CIC will get so that'll probably nudge me to a CarPlay solution at some point.

Cheers - it came about as said above, crap nights sleep, had a quick nosey and there we go biggrin

Yup; very happy with the latest CiC in it; I’ll probably get sorted re the sat-nav via Rusty at satnavupgrades.co.uk as I’ll ask if our F31 can have a later update too - he’ll send them both on a USB with the FSC code etc

Have looked into Droid UK too; but for the amount I use the car; but also have Google Maps on my Pixel 10 Pro Fold - that’s a superb phone for sat-nav with its huge inner screen; and I can spend c£300 on better things for the car, like front brakes etc wink

Cheers pal - nor had I; they all had the 5 spoke 249s which I'm not keen on at all, so it's nice to see these.

They'll look much better once fully refurbished biggrin

Wow; it really popped on that Lee

I think once I've given it a good DA'ing, it'll look much better

Thanks Dan. thumbup

It was a lovely car to be fair, and I miss it a lot.

You'll get yours to where you want it to be for sure, and you always do. beer
