Great car.

Is that Nick Faldo's old car, the one that got so publicly bashed-in by his ex-wife,....?

It seems cheap, since 959s start at about £140k in Germany now - I wonder why?

I also read a good report in Excellence magazine recently, where they compared a 959 to a 996TT and said the 996TT is marginally faster. Apparently the 959 actually weighs quite a bit more than Porsche would have you believe..........

I still love the look though.........

Nick Faldo's 959 was a red one. I believe it is the one that is/was recently for sale with Autoclassica. I think it was previously up for sale at "Garage on the Green" in Richmond, they were also trying to sale the plate "1 NF" as well.

Yep, it looks like the one at AutoClassia. They have had two 959s in for a while now- the red one that was Nick Fs and a sliver one. One of them had a power upgrade, but cannot remember which one- I cannot remember what the standard bhp is for a 959, so dont know if this is the more powerful one or not. Great car, but if fast is what you are after they also have a modified 930 turbo which was raced at Le Mans (or what ever spelling), with some riddicular bhp adjustable via a dial.

The standard output of all the 959's was 450BHP, you could get an upgrade by the factory (and Reading) up to 550BHP, cost of upgrade was £18,000! The car advertised for £95K is fresh on the market and not been advertised before.

If you look in 911 & Porsche World this month you can see another of Mr Faldos old Porsche Turbos. One of the guys in my local region of the PCGB owns his original 930 Turbo. That's at least 3 Turbos I know Mr Faldo has owned, what an excellent fellow he is

What an amazing thread resurrection ... started by PetrolTed who founded PH ??

£95k to ??

I once drove a 959 Sport ... one of three to be photographed by Anthony Fraser and written about by Jonny Tipler ... supplied by SCoM ... yes that rogue ... but then I guess Gmunster in this thread was another ? In short, somewhere close to the back of Castle Howard it almost !! ran out of petrol when it stalled pulling out of a junction. So john sent a mechanic with a 5litre can to top-it-up !!!

Still, I have driven a 959 Sport ... thankyou smile !!!

Another bizarre thread resurrection.

I’m guessing the was Mexborough’s car?

I remember John having a delivery mileage red 959 that went off to Hong Kong. Very cool and like new.

Shame him and Andrew became thieving bds.

Indeed. And I tend to think to the detriment of this forum.

He must have had a hell of stable. A true Porsche enthusiast.

smile A pity, that. Quite the bargain at 95K.

A marvellous car, though not as easy on the eye as contemporary 911s. Just love the air intake on each rear quarter panel.

It's almost comical to think that a 959 could have ever changed hands for £95k! Shame that in 2003 that would have more than my house was worth laugh

It does hurt a little bit now though. I could probably stretch to £95k on a car these days. £6m is a pipe dream cry
