Has anyone with a warranty got a dashcam fitted (non-Porsche)? I m thinking about getting one fitted, but I m reading what appears to be Porsche denying warranty claims if a non-Porsche one is fitted.

To those with one fitted, any noise made by your OPC when your cars in for work? Anyone had any claim denied due to a non-oem dashcam?

Seems nuts to me.

Just leave the wires hanging. No issues then. If you hardwire a non standard one perhaps it could cause issues. Either that or have them fit the Porsche official dashcams.

It’s a non-issue:
Warranty Document on Porsche website said:
A claim made under Your Policy for the repair or replacement of a defective system or component shall be invalid to the extent that the defect results from any of the following:

d) Non-genuine Porsche parts have been fitted to Your Vehicle
So if they can pin a specific problem on the installation of your dashcam then they will not cover that, which seems entirely reasonable.

They can also refuse to issue a new extended warranty on a car with non-genuine parts fitted which used to be problematic when warranty renewals involved an 111-point check, but isn’t an issue now that you can renew your warranty with a phone call and a credit card.

When mine was still under warranty the OPC had a moan about it being fitted, I mentioned its nothing to do with the cars electrical system as its powered from a power bank...they must have seen this but still mentioned it.

I was ready for a row but they backed down.

It may not be the cheapest or have the most functions but I went for front and rear Porsche dashcams, and they seem to do the job well and I got a decent discount from the OPC. They can be a bit fiddly to operate especially when updating the firmware but you get used to that over time

I've a non-Porsche dashcam in mine and it's been in for 2 services and a warranty claim and nothing has been said. I've got power coming from empty spaces in the fusebox in the footwell. You could also use the 12v under the glovebox. Porsche do not like wires being spliced for power and if you do that then I think you'll run into any wiring issue problems when claiming on warranty,

Someone on one of the facebook groups got told their warranty wouldn't be renewed due to an aftermarket dashcam and if they wanted it reinstated the vehicle would need a pass a 111 point check.

I have the Fitcamx one fitted and it's molded into the interior mirror, the OPC didn't even notice on a warranty claim, although they would have had a hard time connecting the warranty claim with a Dash Cam.

It's not the best but does the job.
