Hiya...

Today my washers stopped working - so checked the fuse, now - I am assuming that it's the same fuse as the wipers as in the manual it doesn't list it separately

Can anyone confirm that this is the case please?

Ta!

Might be that the connecting pipe has come adrift, it has on mine a couple of times...easy way to tell, keep washer button pressed for a while whilst stationary, if there is now a big puddle under car, pipe has come off, access is passenger side front wheel off, remove wheel arch liner, when refitting pipe, put a cable tie around it, otherwise it will happen again, it did to me!

My info is Row C, location 6 is the wiper fuse location. Rows count down starting at the top of the fuse panel with A and locations count left to right starting with 1.

My Boxster is not handy to check but what does your car's owners manual show for the fuse locations?

Do you hear the wiper washer pump run when you pull back on the wiper stalk? Is the tank dry?

BTW, the wiper nozzles can plug up with water deposits and these deposits are hard to remove. I've had some luck by believe it or not the Porsche techs filling the washer tank with I guess some Porsche washer fluid. They were doing this unbeknownst to me when I would bring the car in for servicing. The nozzles have recovered some of their function, not 100%, but they spray better than they did.

When I noted the nozzles were not working right and after I tried to resurrect them, and without much success, I sought to buy new nozzles. But the old/orignal nozzles were supeseded by new nozzles. I thought nothing of it until I learned the new nozzles while they bolt right in require a wiring harness addition at IIRC $75/nozzle to work. The new nozzles remain in their original packaging awaiting the time I get desperate enough to buy the $150 (or more now...) wiring harnesses.

Sincerely,

Rockster.

I had a similar issue - screen washers stopped working. The headlight washers were ok. If I pulled the washer lever I heard the sound of the washer motor, but no water.

Was fixed quickly and without great expense by Bob at RGA Porsche (Vauxhall, London) who didnt so much as bat an eyelid over it so I assume it is not uncommon. Am sure he said there was an issue with a valve in the system. So if the fuse doesnt fix it, pop in to see Bob or do some research in this direction.

I have 200 plate Boxster 2.7 auto. Same issue. Frustratingly it occurred a day after my mot. So must have been working then. The headlight washer works (when lights are on only of course) but nothing for screen wash. No push noise even. I guess pump has died. But having had mot and service and a few bits done and 900 later the thought of going back to my local Boxster guy (he owns his own old one and loves them as much as I do) isn’t great. But I have no choice. How tricky is it to replace the pump? Or if the headlight washers are working, is it the same pump? I’ve replaced the fuse and that’s not solved it.
