Slow Tyre Leaks possible free fix?!

I'm sure we've all experienced a slow tyre leak on one car or another.
I had one of the front tyres on my new (to me) 987 Cayman S. They were 4 years old and at 4 mm anyway so replaced them with new PS2s, only to find the leak remained. A quick search on the forums pointed towards the valve/TPMS system and that a quick tighten of the inner valve might do the trick.
Off I pop to Halfords to spend a tenner on a 4 way tool and new inner valves. Only to find, after gently tightening all 4 valves, an OEM valve tool and inner valve packed under the Porsche tyre gloop in the tool kit...
Seems to have done the trick after a couple of days.
Hopefully this will save you a tenner if you have the same problem! (and kept the original tyre gloop)
