Dealership prices around the country

Does anyone know if dealer prices (labour particularly, if not also parts) vary at all around the country? I'm in the South East of England where living costs are generally higher, I wonder my local OPC prices are also higher than for example Cardiff or Glasgow?

Parts definitely not, best way of getting a no quibble discount on them is joining PCGB which gets you a 10% discount. No idea on servicing but all OPC's seem pretty busy so I wouldn't be surprised if pricing is pretty uniform.

I'll be honest though I value having a good relationship with my local OPC so don't shop around. If I'm not happy with something when my car is being serviced having the leverage of getting the sales department involved is no bad thing. Also my local OPC's service dept is pretty good (never had a problem with the work they have done)...always get Porsche loan cars or they'll pick up and return the car even though we're an hour away. Our Cayenne is being serviced on Wed...so that means their driver will be on the road for four hours in total collecting and delivering the car.

Yeah I generally agree. I imagine pricing is fixed but was just curious as I live in the South East but quite frequently visit South Wales.

I of course like the idea of maintaining a relationship with my local OPC, and I've always had good experiences with them (left them a 981 Cayman S for a service and they gave me a 718 Boxster S for the day, which was nice!). Only catch is I've had two Porsche's and bought both used, so just by luck of who had what in stock when neither purchases were from my local OPC. Always go to the same place for servicing and parts though.

It's worked the other way around for me. Living in the SE I've never purchased from my local dealerships. Dealers outside the SE tend to be more competitive on pricing or lead times IME. The Cayenne is the first car I'll be purchasing locally. As such I have no relationship with any of their sales departments.

But I've stuck to servicing my cars at the same dealerships and formed a good relationship with the service departments of the various brands we've owned. It's quite a polygamous business and often you'll meet people you know from a previous brand or that know the service "agent" who used to look after your previous car.

A few years ago Porsche made a big thing about bringing in uniform pricing country wide. ( for servicing) Done to stop owners driving from London ( e.g.) to a potentially cheaper area up north. I think for servicing it's still the case....would be interested if you know differently...

This is true apart from the retail dealerships i.e. the ones owned by Porsche who have their own individual prices, usually higher.
