996tt Forge actuators set up
Discussion
Just rebuilt nearside turbo internals and replaced both actuators with forge piston type, replaced the standard 0.7 bar springs with uprated ones(1.0 bar) as the car is set up for this pressure already. The car has had a stage one exhaust and ecu remap and pulled 1.0 bar before the strip down of the turbo, it's just the nearside was smoking a little so believed the seals may be worn. I measured the actuator arms from the originals before removal and basically worked out the preload as the new forge actuator arms are a different length? So I set the preload on the 1.0 bar springs at 3 full turns of the nut with the waste gate completely shut.... wanted to know is this about right for a basic set up? Car now goes to 0.9 bar but does peak around 1.0-1.1 for short periods
