Would you daily drive your 911? I have a 996 C4S that I drive all the time. Thought I would share my experiences!! https://youtu.be/Jl8u_QOX7BA

I daily drove my 964 for a couple of years and only stopped after the mileage was rocketing (along with the servicing bills !). Now I've got a 991.1 GTS as well and that's my daily. Don't see any issue with them being a daily driver - they are as happy sitting in a queue of traffic as they are on that quiet Sunday morning blat !

Great video! I daily drive my 997.2, have done about 17,000 miles in the 14 months I’ve had it, including many miles in the brutal winter we’ve just had. Whilst is has cost me nothing apart from fuel and insurance in that time, I’m feeling guilty putting so many commuting miles on the car so am thinking of getting something like a boggo Golf for daily duties.

Anyone else doing a lot of miles pa in their 911?

My 997 C2S is my daily driver, although I don't do a huge amount of mileage as I work from home. The previous owner did an average of 10k a year in the 7 years he owned it though.

I've clocked up ~40,000 in 4 years on my 996 turbo. Its not done too badly, things that have gone wrong are age related mostly (rads/condensors, water pump discs and pads). Not a bad way to commute imo.

Had a 964 RS as daily driver for 7 years and 70k miles ... bit bumpy and turning circle not suited for London but fun . Then into a new GT3 as daily for 6 years 28 k ..... Kids came so had to get a 4 seat Ferrari next as daily .. now back to Porsche as Daily driver , the new 991.2 RS ( automatic so will be good in traffic ) .

Answer: Absolutely!

So long as I enjoy driving on my way to work (the opportunity to do this is getting less and less, but it's still there), and there is enough distance to get the car up to temp, then I'll keep driving my 996.

On the other hand - if I find myself doing short runs to the train station to travel to the Big Smoke.... well, let's cross that bridge when it happens.

Off to Hartech tomorrow for planned Major Gold service, full internal look over, low temp thermostat, 12 month oil change

might keep it, might sell it.

I've ordered an UP Gti as another manual, fun mobile, albeit 995kg for the UP, but this one for now is my daily.

Yep, running 2 cars just wasnt financially viable for me and with a young family means I have exactly zero free time at weekends to enjoy a weekend car, so my 997 turbo is my daily driver. Done over 30,000 miles in it over the last 2 years and its left on the drive in all weathers.

Even drove it up to Newcastle and back the other month. 8 hours of driving in one day!

My 997 is my only car so yes... I ride a bike (cycle) daily though.

The 996 it replaced was a 'daily' too.
