Hello there

Im after a little advise to a kind of problem I've been milling over

Im selling my CSL and will soon be in the market for a GT4 and have been looking at some used items on line and getting rather excited,

they are starting around the 80k mark and upwards,

Im thinking with the release of the new GT4 at the end of the year would I be better to hold back to see what they come up with?

there is a lot of talk of de tuned 4.0 engines ect ect in the new GT4, some people think it may be a turbo unit .........

I don't want to hold off and the new GT4 raise the old cars prices but in the same breath I m not keen about buying one and the new car being so good the old prices tank.

also is buying someone's deposit for a new GT4 an option ???

if so where would one look to do such a thing

any help much appreciated

cheers

The new GT4 spec is not yet available, but it sounds like it wil be a 4.0 version of the old 3.8 with chassis tweaks. No turbos.

If you're not yet in the queue for a new GT4 at an OPC then you're unlikely to get one I'm afraid. Demand will outstrip supply again.

No-one has a confirmed deposit in place as the car does not officially exist yet.

As the previous poster outlined, the GT4 or GT4 RS as it sounds like it will be released as, is not 'officially' available.

I have a deposit down on either the next generation GT4/RS or GT3, so your best bet would be to head to your local Porsche dealer and try and get on the list. I am in Canada, so not sure how the rules work in the US for cross-border allocations, but you should try any and all locations/states in the US to try and get one. It will not be easy though, especially if you do not have a current GT car to trade in with.

Be prepared to put a fully refundable deposit down, usually $5K. If you want to up your chances, you may also want to look at the secondary market and get a quality used GT4 now to trade against a potential new one. Worst case scenario, you will have a GT-4 albeit not a new one. Good luck.
