Issues following windscreen replacement

Hi,

Has anyone experienced similar issues following a windscreen replacement.

> really poor phone signal, where previously I had no issues on a particular route

> Sat navy has gone mental, thinks I’m in another country

Not sure if these symptoms are just coincidence or not.

My car is a 997.1 C2

The windscreens have the GPS antenna built into them. Would presume the phone prep antennas are in there too.

It is possible the installer didn't reconnect the pins. OPC should be able to sort it for you if the installer cannot.

However; the GPS and GSM Antennas are housed in the wiper panel under the screen, not the screen itself. The installer will have removed the panel and likely (looking at the symptoms you describe) have not known about the Antennas and pulled the connections apart or damaged the connectors.

Easy fixes but not cheap parts - and not your fault......

Auto windscreens broke my gps lead when changing my screen and had to pay my local OPC £600 to replace the cable!

Yes.. they paid the bill for me.. and fitted 3 different screens.. with the final one being a genuine item as the pattern screens were a poor fit. Must have cost them over 2 grand.. worth the 75 quid excess LOL
