Evo is celebrating it's 20th Birthday and has named it's "Car of the Past 20 years"

997.2 GT3 RS

Never driven one but have an unnatural desire to own one eventually....

For me it it would be the CGT, but a 997.2 RS is - depending on the day - at or near the top of the cars I really want to buy list. One day I will definitely own one

Is that a cup rear wing, it sits a lot higher.

Truly gorgeous cars! There was a speed yellow one that JZM had for sale about 5 years ago, it was snapped up by Alpinestars....lucky git! biggrin

For those that have driven both, how close is a 997.2 gt3 clubsport with a few tweaks (e.g. lower gearing) to a 997.2 gt3 rs?

Yes, cup wing risers.

I am waiting for the phone call from Alpinestars when he needs to sell it one day. I agree - he is a git biggrin

with a short RS final drive and LW fly wheel they must be about the same. 997.2 GT3 seem the best buy atm imo and as you say with a few tweaks inc. proper shocks a nice toy.

I find the RS chassis more supple and composed than in the vanilla 3. The SMFW makes a big difference too - contrary to othe voices on this forum I find H&T with it much more natural than with item in the 3.

Not being pedantic but Alpines is
signal not speed. Even nicer!!

They are truly an epic utopia automobile - doubtful we will experience a similar experience again.
Still in reach financially (just) - especially if you consider that the 3.8 997.2 RS offeres 99% of the 4L but at (for now) only approx 40% of the sticker price!!

Heads up.... Anyone looking for utter perfection, checkout the one at Richard Grace Cars
I've seen probably 80-90 out of the 136 UK C16 cars over the years and this one is top of the food chain. I should know
It's the only car I've ever owned twice!

^ this. Fabulous car and another one here pining at a lost chance (never give it a while to think over if you like a car!!). weeping

The 7.2rs is imo as close to peak car that one will ever find. (Whatever the colour wink )

depends what you mean by best, still has poor gen 1 PASM !

So £ for £ a modded 3.8 RS at £300k is a better far nicer car then the 4.0 at £500k which is a collectors car.

so imo the 4.0 is the worst as it's too expensive, now for a collector it might be the best, but I'll take a 4.1 3.8 RS and have £200k left in my pocket.
