Boost leak, ok to drive?
Discussion
On a long drive the other day I noticed a strange noise accelerating out of a bend followed by a loss of power. I switched the display to boost pressure and getting max 0.1 to 0.2 bar. Accelerating from rest I could hear a very loud turbo woosh, so expect a split pipe or one has come off. Nothing noticeable from a quick look though.
Is it ok to drive like this if careful not to spool up the turbos? I'd have thought a couple of things that could go wrong are if a pipe has detached then unfiltered air could be sucked in along with and detritus, and that the turbos could spool up to higher rpms than they are meant to as nothing to push against.

The turbo will spin up to a certain rpm because of exhaust pressure regardless. It is, however protected to an extent as you've still got coolant (If present? - didn't check your car type) and oil circulating through the casing, and it won't overspeed as the wastegate should still be working too. Plus, if it's split or come loose on the inlet-to-turbo side, there's no pressure in the system so it can't spin up under load, which is what could cause real damage in a worst-case scenario. If it's between the turbo and intercooler or intercooler to inlet manifold, then you've got normal turbo rpm, but dumping all the air directly to atmosphere.
I'd still get it seen to sooner than later though.
