Design 911 Genuine Parts

Hi all,

I'm the new owner of a 981 Cayman S and have been looking in to fitting the tinted rear lights. OPC have quoted £569.71 each + vat to supply them, whereas Design 911 have them at £388.12 for a pair...it does say in the listing "genuine Porsche parts" but surely this is too good to be true?!

I've used Design 911 a few times, and they've always been reliable - they could be grey imports, but if they say genuine Porsche parts, I expect that they are.

It's also worth remembering that prices differ greatly from one OPC to another.

I think the design 911 prices are plus vat so by the time you add 20% the gap is a fair bit less.

Plus you can usually get 10% off if you ask at an OPC...

Your OPC have quoted you for individual parts

D911 list them as a pair

Go back to your OPC, tell them to brush up on what they are doing, and ask for a price on 98104490000, they will be £337.50 + vat for the pair

I’ve generally found OPC for OEM parts as cheap if not cheaper than any of the third party sellers.
Obviously not on consumables though.

I've only bought from Design911 once, and it took them two weeks to admit they didn't actually have it in stock and weren't entirely sure when the next delivery would be. Good job I wasn't in a rush for it.

Had a similar experience. Order taken, chased up and was told not in stock and they didn't know when it would be in stock.
