Germany's holy grail, the unlimited autobahn speed limit, is under fire once again as the German parliament prepares to vote on a motion submitted by the Alliance 90/The Greens that would introduce a 130km/h (81mph) limit. The vote is planned for 18 October . .

Breathe easy kids. The motion for a 130km/h speed limit on German autobahns has been voted down. It was rejected in the German parliament by 498 votes to 126, with seven abstentions. Word is the ruling coalition is planning a fresh autobahn speed limit vote next February
