Porsche warranty 3 month extension

The warranty is worthless at the moment as all OPCs are closed. Hence repairs cannot be done.
Mine is opening this month...had two cars booked in for service in April. They called me last week to book them in again. They’re allowed to be open and have re-configured working spaces/practices to be compliant with distancing. Clearly there is the issue of my journey falling outside the current isolation guidance but the same can be said for trips to Recycling Centre’s which are being opened up. This is under a section for warranty renewal on Porsche UK website
Porsche Approved Warranty Policies and the New Car Manufacturers Guarantee
Q. My Porsche Approved Warranty Policy is about to expire and I wish to renew it, but my Porsche Centre is currently closed. What should I do?
A. Unfortunately it will not be possible for you to purchase a new Porsche Approved Warranty Policy whilst the Porsche Centres remain closed. However, please send an email to either your local Porsche Centre (using the email address found on the ‘About Us’ section of its website) or the Porsche Customer Assistance Centre advising them of your intention to purchase a new policy before your existing policy expires. Please include your vehicle registration details in the email, together with the date on which your existing policy expires. If you advise us by email of your intention to renew before your existing policy expires, and you successfully complete the application process and 111 point check within 45 days from the expiry date* we will complete your warranty purchase at the lower “renewal” price. A separate charge applies to the 111 point check.
Any renewal request that is not notified prior to the existing policy expiry date and/or not purchased within the above 45 day period will be subject to the higher ‘standalone’ policy price.

- This period will be kept under review.
But that's not extending the approved warranty, is it?
So what happens if we have an engine failure outside of the warranty period whilst we're waiting to get to the OPC for the next one? Who will pay for the repairs when the OPC reopens?
It would be nice if Porsche could give us some reassurance here.

I agree... but it could also make the period of the warranty from March to whenever they are open again completely worthless. Let's say I had a problem in April when under warranty, but can't get into the OPC to for a repair until July due to closure and backlog, at which point he car is now out of warranty and without any gratuity from Porsche GB the OPC explain that I have to pay for the repair, which would have been under warranty otherwise. So I've paid for a warranty that is now worthless, and I have to pay for repairs which could be really expensive. My point is that it's not just a gamble, if we aren't covered by the warranty as we can't get the problems validated or repaired, then the insurance is worthless and we should either be given a refund for this period, or they should extend the period of cover for a time to allow for this situation to be dealt with. At the moment it is unclear what would happen if the above scenario were to materialise.
