Even more of a reason to stop using the 'Porsche stuff'.
I'd also recommend Prestone antifreeze. (yes they pay me a packet of biscuits for every product placement.) mostly because it mixes with whatever is in the car already.

The Porsche screenwash in the picture is the winter version, which includes antifreeze. The small bottles of green concentrate which you get with a service (that they probably charge you £20 for) are summer screenwash, with no antifreeze. I find the green stuff works really well in summer at getting rid of bugs, but if you make it too concentrated it leaves horrible streaky residue on the edges of your windscreen. It's useless in deep winter conditions though, hence the other one!
I also profess a liking for the purple pre-mixed Halfords screenwash. I've never had a problem with that congealing and blocking up my washer pump. I once had to get the washer bottle out of the front wing of a 996 to de-gunk it, and that's an experience I've no desire to repeat!

You are advised by Porsche to add the Porsche winter additive to the Porsche green screen wash in winter.
No other brand may be used or you will invalidate your Porsche warranty.
Fortunately, when our 2019 Macan S's rear screen/camera "T" piece blew off in cold weather the OPC confirmed that we had been using Porsche fluids and fixed it FOC. The Gold OPC technician confirmed they CAN tell if you've been a naughty boy/girl.
Who'd have thought Porsche would go to those lengths to evade a warranty claim eh?

I had some of that in the pouch inside my frunk. It also ran out. By which I mean the bottle exploded and the liquid ran out and caked into the "carpet" in the bottom of the frunk. Made an awful mess. It happened to conicide with when the car was in for service and I complained to the OPC and got them to clean it up. But I'm not 100% sure it was their fault - I think the bottle must have burst in the heat of summer...

You can use ANY washer fluid in ANY car, however issues can arise when mixing them. I also profess a liking for the purple pre-mixed Halfords screenwash. If you plan to change the fluid you use, it’s best to run all the old fluid out either through normal use, or by sitting on the drive and using the washers until it’s run out !!
Irrespective of which method you use, you should then pour at least a litre or two of clean water into the washer bottle and use that, both through the screen washers AND the headlamp washers to flush any old fluid out.
Once that clean water has been run through thoroughly, you’re free to use whichever fluid you choose.
But ensure that for winter use, you use a mix or a concentrate that provides adequate protection for temperatures down to -10 or -12degrees, especially in a car still under warranty, because as others have said, if the system should freeze and pop a pipe off, Porsche won’t look upon you kindly…

If it's the bottle I'm thinking off you don't invert it. You take the cap off and squeeze the lower part of the bottle it then fills up the 'bulb' in the top which you can then pour in the washer bottle.Armitage.Shanks said:

My washer jets have appeared to be depositing aspic jelly onto the windscreen for a while now. I agree that the small bottle you get from Porsche service is great stuff and lasts for ages. Having done a bit of digging, I believe it is made by Sonax, who produce an identical bottle concentrate. I’ve used it for a couple of years and found it equally effective. They also produce a concentrate for extreme cold temps.

Subtle use of 'evade' rather than 'avoid' there. No other brand may be used or you will invalidate your Porsche warranty.
