Word is that the Mission-E is being re-designed to be hybrid ie include a proper engine like the 918.
This is after they showed the electric prototype version to multiple batches of potential buyers (including groups of current Carrera GT owners) and basically everyone shrugged their shoulders and said 'no thanks' to an EV supercar.

thank god for that and I am not surprised (even though I am unfortunately not a potential buyer...). Still waiting for that euromillions email in my inbox This is after they showed the electric prototype version to multiple batches of potential buyers (including groups of current Carrera GT owners) and basically everyone shrugged their shoulders and said 'no thanks' to an EV supercar.

What would be the point of a hybrid Mission-E with the 918 engine? I'm assuming we will see a version of it in the 963 road car. Porsche are unlikely to do 2 hypercars. This is after they showed the electric prototype version to multiple batches of potential buyers (including groups of current Carrera GT owners) and basically everyone shrugged their shoulders and said 'no thanks' to an EV supercar.
Perhaps the 963 will be a one off like the 917. In that case I could see a redesigned Mission-E

My hope is for a 499P Modificata watered down further for road use. What the 911 GT1 was, basically. Perhaps the 963 will be a one off like the 917. In that case I could see a redesigned Mission-E
The latest round of unobtanium hypercars has fallen a bit flat. Chucking a hybrid in the Mission E isn't going to cut it.

I didn't say the Mission-E would have the 918 engine in it, just that it would be hybrid like the 918! Even that's only a rumour and not confirmed anywhere.Perhaps the 963 will be a one off like the 917. In that case I could see a redesigned Mission-E
As for the 963 in the latest video, I'd guess it'll be either a one-off or more likely a very very limited run, like 25-100 and very very expensive ie millions.
The holy trinity were a time and place that I am not sure will be repeated again….worked for all the manufacturers.
Be interesting to see how an aged hybrid supercar will appeal in twenty tears time….I think booth the P1 and LaF have got upgraded battery systems ? I suspect history might not be kind to them.
