996 convertible roof issue

Hi all

I placed an offer on a manual 996 which has a couple of issues. The one of most concern is the roof only raises from the button on one side and has to be pulled up manually to assist. It closes on the Button OK. Without knowing the exact issue ive asked for a reduction in the selling price to cover likely repairs. I have limited idea on repair costs but expect 4 figures. Do you think this is a fair assessment of likely repair costs? I want to be fair with the seller and protect my own interests.

The fairest way to both is to get the seller to get it repaired (obviously not at an OPC) and when that figure is known end up paying the seller the rest.

Doing it any other way is a complete gamble for both.
