I remember having a copy of Performance Car at school with a feature article about this car, it was a white 911 Turbo with a Dage conversion incl. flatnose. Is this car still around ? I think I saw it up for sale a few years ago....feeling nostalgic today, must have read that article a zillion times drooling over that car.

No way, I was only thinking about that the other day. It also left a lasting impression on me!! I remember the article well, right from his early morning start waiting for the car to get up to temp to overtaking a long line of traffic - Nice bit of 80's 'in ya face'

I also remember this article well, ( wasn't it black though?? ) espescially this bit where he had to sit in his drive waiting for the digital temp gauge to reach the required temp before he could drive the thing!!
It was the first car I can remember that could crack 10sec to 100mph, they made it out to be some kind of snarling animal but as I remember it only had just over 400bhp, how times change!!

No definitely white, I even remember the reg #... how sad is that ? TUR 80W with the spacing changed to read TUR8O W

Circa 86 there was also a great feature of a 911 Clubsport v Renault GTA V6 Turbo, I used to hanker after a Clubsport but they were always asking silly money for them and I suppose rightly so. Only about 60 RHD (correct ??) made.

Yes your right it was white, I've just found the mag. Here's one of the passages that helped turn me into the PistonHead I am today:-

"A straight half mile invites. Perhaps we could nip past two or three cars here? I slot the firm, stiff shift down into third, pull out, and poke the throttle questioningly. In reply one unseen hand hurls the car forward with the power of a celestial quater-back while another, like an invisible night club bouncer, presses me back into the seat. We're past five, six- seven cars: now we've comfortably swallowed the entire chain of them in a single straight. And that wasn't even full throttle"

I lost count of the times I read that article and wondered where I could get the then £50,000 price tag from!! Just for the record it did 0-100mph in 10.1 secs on 400bhp.

Holy thread resurrection!

I saw this car for sale a few weeks ago but my google-fu is abysmal and I can't find it. The ad may be gone already though.
Anyone know if it sold?

Many thanks, forgot to check the most obvious place! D'oh.

Just wanted to see the ad again and would love to buy this although my bank account says no. Those alloys would have to go!

Shame it doesn't have the old TUR 80W plate.

Very tempting if you have the time and money to put into it.

With no history it’s an expensive way to relive your childhood dreams!
I remember the performance car mag article too.
You could easily put another 50 k into that to make it right.
Hope someone does take it on though. It would be a stunning car to have and drive.
