Does anybody know if the 997 gen2 has ISOFIX? and if so, where is it - front or back seats?

I don't have one, but I think the answer is none in the rear and an option for the front which deactivates the airbag.

I know you're not the tallest person on the Earth, but is a child seat really necessary to see out the windscreen?

Hi, the isofix is on the front passenger seat only and is indeed in conjunction with the front airbag deactivation. Well that was certainly the case with mine.

Good find! I couldn't find this on the Porsche website. If it's silly money i will see if Britax or similar do one.

I was quoted £300ish for fitting the airbag switch to my Cayman by an OPC. I ended up paying nearer £200 after the fitting took a lot longer than they expected. I don't have ISOFIX and didn't bother asking about it as the seatbelt securing is pretty quick and easy with the baby seat I have.

Holy thread resurrection Batman !

Am thinking of buying a mates 1x owner 997.2 2S and would very much like to use it for occasional journeys with either my 5 year old or 2 year old.

What is the best way to tell if the car has the airbag de-activation feature so I can use a car seat in the front? Where can I find it please?

Is it still easy for OPCs to install the feature if this car doesn't have one?

Thanks all.

If it's OEM there's a light that illuminates next to the handbrake/cigarette lighter. Not sure what the case is with OPC fitted....apart from the switch to turn it off which I assume they both have.

I was looking at this in my 996.

The manual stated that only a special Porsche child seat with an extra arm which allows a circuit breaker to deactivate the front airbag works.

Yay.
