Hi all,

My interior carbon trim by the immobiliser seems to have got a little excited and risen up. Can someone suggest a solution to fixing this. I was thinking so epoxy glue but its pretty stiff and not sure how I'd clamp it down or if the glue will damage the trim.

Suggestions much appreciated. Pic of the stiffy below smile

Many thanks

I think you may be better off removing the offending trim piece, heating it up gently as above until it can be re-shaped (perhaps in a Vice with cloth to protect the surface) and then re-glue carefully back into place.

Trying to glue in-situ is unlikely to work as sun damage has deformed the trim.

Thanks for the advice guys,

The re-bending it does make sense, didn't think of that. How would you go about heating it though? I've got a mental picture of me with the trim set up on my iron board next to my shirts smile

Does anyone know where you can get these carbon strips and any idea on price?

I have them on my 996 4s but they are cracked on both sides, and either haven't been fitted especially well or the glue has gone and they have started to raise around the edges.

I have searched on the net but cannot find them so am thinking that they are OPC only and therefore probably horrifically expensive.

Any help gratefully recieved.

Stu.

seems to be a fairly common problem, what ever happened to Porsche build quality?!
