Hi , has anyone installed an IPD Plenum on a boxster 986 ? Any performance increase?

Yes I did it to my old S, was a marked improvement in throttle response, felt quicker never got it dyno ed so I cant confirm it

Have a look on boxa.net People are using a 996 plenum for similar results for a tenth of the price.

Message keep it lit. He might have a 996.1 GT3 throttle body going. That will give you a better plenum and bigger intake all in one.

What size is teh GT3 Tb? I fitted an 81 mm to my ipd, bought mine in the US and bought it home, you can do a good deal with them direct!

82mm IIRC. You have this fitted to a 986?

Fair enough. Shame you didn't do a before and after dyno. The standard tb is 68mm so most people go for the 74mm 996/997 size upgrade. The normal route seems to be to go for the 82mm tb if you already have the 74mm one as standard.

I could be mistaken but I think all the 986S are e-gas. IIRC 2.5 is cable, not sure about 2.7.

Upgraded my 997 TB from 76mm upto 82mm, going to dyno this weekend, but at same time I've fitted X51 carbon intake too, so hard to pinpoint where any improvement might come from.
