Pagid pads wont fit with the shims in place

Just fitted new pagid pads to front of the tt(tight fit) but the rears wont go in with the shims in place.
Will it be ok to track it without the shims?
I figured once they wear a bit i could re-fit them.

Most of the RS boys do this, remove the shims altogether. They are not much noisier without them...
