Hi there - at first a huge greetings to all, since this is my first post on Pistonheads.bow
I´m not native, so excuse my english in advance, if it not seems to be correctly.... wink

I am owning a TVR Tuscan MK1 Red Rose built in 03/2001 and bought in 09/2024 with refurbished engine in 2013.
It has several but smaller problems at the time I bought it, but it is considered as a long term project to give it the love and time such a beauty deserves.

At one of these, I´m having a huge question mark above my head.
It seems not only the air con. was disabled, but the whole car ventilation system seems to be deactivated.
Why am I suggesting this?
The lights and the knobs are working, showing the lights and different settings of the air con.
But no matter the temperature or the speed level of the ventilation system, there is no change at all nor any audible acustic of the whole ventilation system.
On the other hand, when the car has warmed up, the faster I drive, the more hot air is getting pressed into the drivers cabin.
The slower I become, the less hot air (straight from the engine heat) got into the cabin.

The same behaviour occur in my modern daily driver car, when I simply deactivate the air con. together with the ventilation system.
And besides of that, even the pre-owner said that the pre-pre owner deactivated it, to have slightly more bhp. eek

Now my question, if anyone would do that, how and where could it be done?
I already checked the fuse, but it was fine and working.
The electrical part inside the middle console seem to be fine as well, as I renewed the leather of it.
I mean I only drive with good weather, but hell, shortly after an hour in combination with the sun it gets hot like a sauna. sun

Any idea is welcomed!
And I found a similar years old post about something similar, but it was only the air con. and not the whole ventilation system as far as I understood,
but correct me when I am wrong.
Thanks in advance!

Not sure if you are describing 2 problems?
The first is there is no air coming from the vents.
The 2nd is no air conditioning.

If there is no fan you won't get a/c so, despite there being lights on, try pushing down on the fan knob as this turns it on and off. If this doesn't work the next thing to check would be the fuse.

If this works but still no a/c it will be time to take the bonnet off and check the components. If you're lucky it may just need a re-gas.

I checked the settings and pressing the knob as well, no change at all.
The fuse is fine as well, as I wrote in the op.

If it just need a re-gas, then at least the vents should turn on or am I wrong?
(just blowing hot or outside air afaik)

Sounds like the heater ECU is not functioning.

It is in the passenger footwell behind the shelf.

There is a common problem with some of the pins shorting out and melting the connections. More information can be found here:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Jody at Python racing can repair this.

Thanks for the post, I am one step forward now.

I found the heater ECU at the passenger side right behind the emergency door opener.
The pins looked fine, though it seems the plug was reversed plugged in.
After turning it around, at first it seems to work.

BUT....after turning it on, I hear the click of the flaps for the first 5 seconds, cold air seems to be flowing. (after running the engine while standing still)
After this, it switches to hot air for around 10 seconds or so.
Then after that, I hear the clank of the flaps again, and the whole ventilation system going off again.
The whole process without changing the position of the knobs.

When I do so, there is a 50% chance that the upper process is repeating.
When I press the knob and turning the system off and back on again, it repeats with a 100% chance.

Very strange, I would show you a video if I could but don´t know if Im able to upload here.
