First Engine Start Advice
Discussion
Hi, having bought my Tuscan as a basket case with a seized engine, I've now completely rebuilt it and its sat ready for the first turn of the key. Although exciting, its also full of questions as I really don't know what to expect.
I've done due diligence and vacuum filled the cooling system and filled the oil tank with 10litres of oil initially. Plugs out, injectors disconnected, I have MBE tool running and noticed that its reporting 20v battery voltage? Thinking this was strange, I then attempted to crank it, which it did fine, but MBE is reporting back 151psi oil pressure. Not having had experience of cranking oil pressure on a new build Speed Six engine before I'd still guess this was way higher than it is in reality. So my questions are, are the 20v and high reported cranking oil pressure linked and its kind of an ECU scaling issue, do I have a bad ECU earth, not sure where this even is? do I have a bad ECU, is 151psi full scale for the oil pressure sensor? or something else entirely. Neither value fluctuated on cranking as you'd imagine would happen?
Your help and experience will be greatly appreciated. I'm intending to film its first start and would love to post it up here when I have it - thanks

To add closure here, I found that the combination of laptop and USB to serial adapter with the Motaclan supplied serial to serial data lead was the issue.
Just so happens I found an old Panasonic Toughbook that was running Windows XP, managed to install the MBE Tool software onto it and eliminated the USB to serial adapter as the Toughbook had its own serial port. This combination fixed both the high battery voltage and oil pressure readings and stopped the live data freezing during cranking.
