Tuscan or T350T
Discussion
Just sold the Griff and want newer TVR but the dillema is which one ! Tried MK1 Tuscan and new T350T and loved both (no , I can't have both ). Liked size and space inside Tuscan plus user friendly boot space but felt drive of T350 was sportier. Needs to travel well on rat-runs commuting and not too tiring after some rough roads. Want to drive every day, so am i asking too much from a TVR ? Love styling of both so any advise on living with either as mentioned would be appreciated.
Put simply, we liked both, but it came down to the T350t due to MrsHobbit finding the Tuscan roof too fiddly -- she's 5'0", and whilst the overall weight was not a problem, the lifting, angling, arms outstretched was too much. The T350t panels are a piece of the preverbial to remove and replace, and so that way we went. We take turns and argue about who's turn it is to drive it, both love it, and like the Chim its an every day car, and will do roughly 15k a year.
I had a Tuscan Mk 1 great then I changed it for a T350C good deal on part X purchased it in November last year sold it in Feb 05 For the MK2s the T350 is a roller skate. The engine is good planted on the road yes comfort on a long drive Ok for me but the wife did not like it also no boot space at all. Insurance also wanted a premium because of goods or items could be got at in the boot. and if I carried my lap top in the car it would not be ensured. I remember we went to a well known shopping ctr parked the car and because its so small we could not find it. one other problem the seating on both sides is canted inwards and is very difficult to straighten so when your driving you always feel as if your leaning into the car. I your serious about getting a t350 get some self adhesive felt pads to put on the seats where it rubs on the side wall because is squeaks and will drive you mad. If you have had a Tuscan in the past you will want another Tuscan it was a good excuse for me to get the MK2s there nothing like it good space in the boot for shopping keeps the wife happy. comfort on a long run and more room inside and looks awesome
I don't know how old your T350 was, but my seats don't squeak, or rub, and I don't feel like I'm leaning anywhere.
The boot has a load cover, just like many estate cars have. Most insurance policies won't cover things that are left in sight, either. This is normal, and would apply to anything left in any car.
As for not buying it because you might loose it in a car park? Oh, come on. The Tuscan isn't hugely different in size, and to be honest, if loosing it in a car park is a major factor, it's probably not for you.
My wife drives the car without issue, and stops for shopping on the way home from work in it.
Best advice, go try them for yourself, and with decent length test drives. Then choose.

Looks like your lucky with your T350 most people I have spoken to have had the same problems as mine the car was a 2003 with 1500 on the clock. There are articles written on the 350 site about how to fix the seat issue. They don’t come with a boot cover as standard and if you want one the car I was told would have to go back to TVR to have it fitted because the local dealers would not retro fit. from what I’ve seen you can’t put much underneath it anyway. The reason the insurance companies gave for the excess was that in there view it was easy to break the rear window and take the contents. The length of the Tuscan is quit a bit different to the T350. The parking issue was tongue in cheek you missed that and your right the T350 was not for me a costly mistake on my part.
I know the earlier ones didn't have a load cover as standard, but the newer ones do. Mine's an early 2004 and had it fitted as standard.
Sounds like the insurance company were being a bit awkward, to be honest, you could smash the rear window of any car and take whats under the cover?
Wondered if the parking bit was tongue in cheek, but couldn't decide. Rest of your post seemed very anti-T350, so guessed wrong. Sorry.
Are Tuscans really *that* much longer than the T350? Never measured one, but they look pretty close. Oh well.
Sorry you didn't enjoy your T350, and that the new Tuscan is your cup of tea. We very much liked the look of it, but MrsHobbit didn't get on with the roof. Also, wasn't sure about the digital only dash. I quite like the analogue dials that you can see in your peripheral vision a bit better.
How do you find the new Tuscan?

just ordered new tuscan plus aircon. titanium silver and cant wait for its arrival. decided to forget about analogue display as could get road angel stuck to front of dash as this will give easier to read output (as is case with wifes car.) hope to visit seaside to see its build and will post picture when it arrives.

Well done Alan. Did you order Iced Titanium or Grigio Titanio?
grigio titanio with black leather and mulberry trim. HHC had one in showroom but by the time i decided it was my spec it was sold ( had no air con-- so maybe a blessing ). took long time to pick b/n T350T and tusc, but as i'm 6'4'' i felt i had to duck my head too much and lack of boot space swung the pendulum to tusc.
