Hi Folks,
I and some others that weren't members of this particular group, had an email from one of the organisers of this event, that was recently held here on Jersey, saying that if we wished to display our cars we would be welcome to do so.
The thought of saving the £2 admission fee made my mind up, the day was excellent with stunning weather and a good variety of quality cars and bikes "for any old Mods there was a GS Scooter with real gold plate with etchings, pictures and scenes from Quodrophenia".
The attention the Tuscan got was quite incredible, we picknicked quite a bit away from the car, and while we wandered around the showground, people that knew the car was mine said, that they wished that they had a fiver for every time the car was photographed they would have been wealthy people the best bits were the WOW expressions and also the kids with the spec knowledge of the cars.
There have been pictures posted by some of the attendees, on the cicarscene.com website, under the topic RJH&AS weekend.
It's good to still be in love with the one thing after all this time, sorry Marie, your still there as well.

Best Regards,

James & Marie Sim.

Lovely island but how do you get on with a 40mph speed limit? I was only there for two days on family business in a hire car (Ford Focus) and I spotted an Aston, a Chimera and a couple of other quick cars. A 40mph limit would drive me nuts!

Nip over to France on a regular basis I guess.

Isn't the speed limit on Guernsey only 35? And cars are banned on Sark IIRC!

Lovely place to live though.

Hi Clive,
I quite enjoy poodling around at low speeds listening to the sound of the machine and watching people look as if they're auditioning for the Exorcist, there are some lovely little lanes and roads with good views that you can't often take in whilst at speed.
France is an hour away and at £100 return for 2 people and car it's motoring heaven and a real wind down, were back there on the 3rd of next month for a weekend.
The cheapest ferry fare that I've found this year to the UK was £480 for next month as we will be doing a little touring around for a week, out of principle I will not pay this sum of money and instead were flying to Durham for £31 return each and hiring a car. I know it's not the same as having and enjoying the Tiv.
We also had a new S Type for a few years it was a fantastic and comfortable cruising car, but one had to go and there wasn't really a contest about which one.

Best Regards,

James Sim.

If you ar ever back across drop me a line and we could have a coffee or beer if you have time.

hi guys, hoping to come to jersey next year, have a 4.5bv griff (yes a real one!), wondering whether to bring it with me...(could bring an elise instead) wondered whether it might be too loud...

Ross,
Bring it over, the Griff that is, whilst the Elise could be probably more suited to the roads here, get a convoy of TVR's passing through St Aubin, Gorey or a busy St Helier on a Saturday, you'll do more than raise a few eyebrows.

Best regards,

James Sim.

Hi Rob,
Haven't really picked up on the special dates for next year yet, been too busy printing off pound notes for my good lady, to allow her to spend them all, on everybody else at this special time of year.
The ferries are also in a bit of a muddle presently, Emmeraude who have been a constant and reletavily good provider of travel to France, are in a bit of a financial difficulty at the moment. I never used them with a Tiv as their ramp at St Malo has such a steep camber at the top, I just felt it would be asking for trouble to use it.
The competition "Condor" especially on the UK route for which they have a monopoly, have increased their prices dramatically this year, it might be that this is the fare required to break even, or make a bit of profit! but I would like to see if the volume of traffic has been reduced since these prices were hiked up.
I quite fancy the trip to Guernsey in May for a show that's being organised at the moment, we will also be taking a few cars to the Le Mans Classic in July, nothing else is planned at the moment if you are thinking about coming over drop me a line.

Best regards,

James Sim.

Hi Al,
Might not be a bad idea to move it across, I'd happily meet anybody that brings their Trevor over, for a chat/coffee/ drive and a yummy beer at the end.

regards,

James Sim.
