I know this sounds obvious but hear me out and also I’m looking for advice.

So circa 17 years ago I bought a lovely Rolex blue Mk1 Tuscan. It was sold to someone in Holland a few years later and I hope it’s still going strong. Only reason I sold it was the usual story of wedding, house, kids etc.

I’m now getting to the position where another weekend car is on the cards and I want it to be something I will keep and make my own. Been running the mill on a few options, mainly a F type jag or a Porsche Cayman but the Tuscan itch is still there. Only thing is, I don’t like standard of any of the options and want to put my take on it. Doing a bit of research though, all the suppliers I used to know have disappeared. Found plenty of suspension components and power are about but can’t seem to find body parts such as S style rear boot spoilers, front typhon style grills or even just winglets/splitters.

Have they all dried up? Know I can “build” the jag or Porsche to my spec with a bit of aftermarket work but I have a feeling neither would be a keeper but a Tiv would.

So basically what I’m asking is, where are companies or suppliers that can give me options for parts?

Cheers in advance

Are you set on a Mk1, or any Tuscan?

Does it need to be a fixer-uper, or do you want something in good shape that you can ‘make you own’ with upgrades?

It doesn’t have to be a MK1, there’s actually bits I prefer on the MK2, for example rear light setup but prefer the dash in the MK1, especially if it’s been modified by Dave the Trimmer.

As for a fixer upper, that’s what’s in my head as the idea of messing about with a properly sorted car doesn’t sit right.

So yeah, think of it as a MK1.5 😂😂

Have a look at Facebook as some former staff use to make certain items post the TVR closure.

Currently, it's a buyer's market so I hope you can find a nice example and make it your own.

A few years ago, it was hard to find one for less than £30k.

Now, we're in the £23-27k range for decent Mk1 examples on Autotrader.

Nope I'm not a dealer and have no interest in whether prices are high or low as I'm not in the market for a Tuscan.

I was looking a few years ago and then opted for a Chimaera for my first enterance into TVR ownership.

I didn't put me off and I think the TVR brand is fantastic and the cars are undervalued as we speak. See some of my previous posts.

Is it just me? I can't work out who's who in this thread.

All I do know is that it's better to buy a nice car than a cheap car.

Motaclan took on the parts supply from TVR. They do have some of the body parts like splitters, winglets etc.

There are 16 for sale on here and 9 are below £29,995 and one is £29,995 and I am sure that you could probably negotiate 1p off the asking price to bring that below £29,995!

Strange again ... I count 15 (one ad is for similar wanted) and only 7 are under £29,995 and the one at £20,495 has had a t350 3.5 engine put in it smile

Is the order that the appear on my screen for an nationwide search sorted for low to high price, which clearly doesn't work, given the order above!

There are 6 more that appear from £31,995 to £47,495. All are for sale.

The factory made a 3.6 Tuscan when they were operating.

But the first 3 are repeated because they are sponsored , you need to understand how PH classified works .... Yes TVR made a 3.5/6 engine but in case of this Tuscan .. it appears to 4 litre went pop and was replaced with and engine from a T350.

How are they repeated when except for two, they are all different prices and of the two that are the same price, one is red and one is black?!

I understand that an advert can appear more than once, but at a different price and colour?

Isn't a Tuscan a Tuscan, whatever engine it has in it? Most have been rebuilt now, not by the TVR factory (a good thing in most people's opinion) or different engines installed from US Ford and GM ones to Racing Green or Power's Performance engines that are Speed 6 based, but very different. One guy on here has put a Honda engine in his. You cannot exclude a Tuscan, just because it doesn't have the orginal factory engine. Most of those blew up anyway soon after delivery to their 1st owner in the 2000s.

Does Mr Muckateer need pics of all of them on this forum to understand the Tuscan prices?

It's not that complicated.

See a car, see a price next to it, check make and model. /Sarc

The one at Kallenhard appears twice both ads £26,450 and the 2000 one ar AMORE both ads at £28795 and you are counting them twice simples
The blue 2003 one at £31,995 also appears twice.

They are NOT at a different price or colour its the same car

Guys, cheers for the posts and I may be wrong but I didn’t ask for folk to have a discussion/argument as to how many classifieds are currently on the site, or the different engines that can be put in as a replacement for a speed 6.

I think we can all agree that we know where to buy them, the actual amount for sale is neither here nor there.

The price is the big issue. Some people think their cars are worth a lot more than they are.

Anything is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it ... But if your sensible with a niche car you get an agreed writeoff valuation with your insurer.

With the greatest of respect, not the issue that is being asked. If you want to discuss this point further, please feel free to do it away from this thread.
