Hi,

My MkI's spare key circuit board went up the creek with no paddle yesterday. The input button which takes the button depressing data just upped and flipped off the board. I still have the button, but I understand that you can't get it resoldered back on.

So, I've ordered a new key. I still have the keycode number on the little red tag, so it's ready to be initialised.

So, the question is, how do you initialise a new key? My dealer reckons you press both keys at the same time - ala Superman III. The dealer reckons you have to activate the immobiliser 12 times with the original key before using the new key. (Or is that activate it 6 times, and deactivate it 6 times...)

Anyway, I was hoping one of you guys might have been there done that, and be prepared to clue me in.
