hi all, I have just put my cerbera up for sale, and was looking for a porsche 911{996} for a change [even though ive heard not the best made porsche-which is-again debateable}Although i love my Cerb, and tvrs i thought the 911 which i have always liked may be more daily useable, and if anything, more cost effective around service time.{of course average costs here}!!,,as i dont do many miles anyway--3to4k a year max.
I then saw the price of Tuscans, which i thought was above my budget but they have come down in price-and i started to re-think, i dont want any comparisons between porsches/cerbs/tuscans on speed /looks..and stuff as its down to personal choice,, but could you please advise if looking at tuscans 2000 upwards model, what are the average maintence costs and if i did go for the Tuscan should i look at ones with engine rebuilds that have been done as at the moment i not sure.

Seems like a bit of tumbleweed on this post. For what its worth, decide your budget. A 2000 Tuscan with high mileage may well either of had a rebuild or be due one. Whatever, I would suggest looking at the SP6 engine thread and allow for a potential rebuild. I sold a 2002 Tuscan with 17,000 on the clock and no engine troubles at all for me or the subsequent owner so its not always the case. Post how much you are prepared to spend and you may get better guidance with how to proceed. Sorry to not give more advice but more information would be useful.

I think the rebuild thing is tricky,my car has done 35k with apparently no rebuild yet runs sweet as a nut,and according to the experts is in great shape, quiet, minimal wear etc

i decided that it must have been reliable to have been used for 11k miles a year,so far that has proved to be the case.

now its up for sale, whether others will see it that way we'll just have to see.

Really looking 19k upwards and max £25,000 if i chose 911. i guess part of the issue is i dont want to spend loads on a car on outlay, or silly service costs for 2k+when i only do limited mileage.
