Hi Baz, I insure with Manning which gives me track day cover but with a 1k excess. They seemed as cheap as others so cover came free! Never had cause to claim tho(thankfully) which is the big test of any company. To pay £100+ for a day seems pretty steep esp if you're going to do more than one/year. Be a bit risky to run without tho.
I'm paying £550ish inc breakdown cover which doesnt seem to bad. Which t day were you thinking of?

Hi Dave - am currently with Mannings and have found them excellent; however, current insurance (SW London) = £1850 (!); renewal of £1450 which is lower, but still high compared to quotes of between £1-£1.2k from a number of other sources. Basically comes down to whether I expect to do 2/3+ trackdays - this is the only difference in coverage.
Was thinking of Cadwell, but realistically, I would prefer an "easier" track as a complete novice. Snetterton would have been great (super close to family in Norfolk), but regrettably cannot make it, and there do not appear to be any more TVRCC days at tracks which perhaps suit a novice more.
Other options - consider an EVOActive day or similar at Bedford/track for a beginner with more run off. I use the Tuscan most days so it needs to remain in one complete piece!!

I did Cadwell as a track day virgin in my chim and survived ok. Been 3 times now and really enjoy it. I'm a bit concerned about taking the tuscan tho as prev post.(LeMans couple of weeks after) I might be persuaded yet..

Competition Car Insurance (CCI) coming in very competitively as well (professional bunch to boot) - although windscreen cover, for ALL types of driving, is excluded from the policy as soon as one selects annual cover to include track days (currently 4 allowed per year through ATDO events).
So....how much could I be looking at for a replacement Tuscan windscreen if it goes as I would hate to save on insurance only to get a £500 bill for a windscreen shortly afterwards! I seem to remember there were problems even sourcing them currently!
