I thought the handling was a little funny today so I went into a garage to check my tyre pressures and they seemed to have increased from the usuall 22 & 24 psi to around 29 psi in three of the tyres. The other one seemed to have lost pressure (hence the odd handling).

This hasn't happened to me in 18 months and I wondered if someone has been winding me up ?

I'd say it's pretty unlikely someones pumping your tyres up at night.
I've had people let my tyres down (and praise-be for runflats) although I realised it was best to keep a pressure gauge and footpump with me after that.
Hard use increases temperature and therefore pressure right?
Were you driving hard?

It could be that the gauge you used wasn't all that accurate.

No harder than usual

I don't think it would have been the previous gauge as I haven't felt the need to check them recently. I do agree that it's pretty unlikely that someone is sneaking round putting air into my tyres in the middle of the night.......

when did you last check them? ...if its a while then it could be the weather - ambient temps are warmer now...i run lower in the summer and higher in the winter....the one thats gone down could have a tiny leak.....

Could be they were significantly warmer when you measured them this time than when you set them last time, or the gauge you used last time underreads or the gauge this time overreads. It does seem unlikely that somebody would have gone round pumping your tyres up!

Maybe your tyres have hayfever- my eyes get puffy too.
