This car is making me grow up
Discussion
What is happening?
I was 29 when I got it.
Was told at the time by a lady owner (previous) that it was a too much of a 'man's car' for her. I didn't fully appreciate what she meant.
First couple of months, great fun being a bit of a lunatic - kind of like a 9 year old with a driving licence. Loving the attention, loving the brashness.
A couple months further on, and I can't help but be more, for want of a better word, 'manly' in it. I still like the noise and the rough edges, but there is a darker, more broody edge to my liking this car. Its as if the silver feathers on my guardian angel have moulted, with black metallic ones taking their place.
I drive more slowly, more smoothly, with more restraint, and when I need to, I let loose with the gas pedal in a kind of primieval rage rather than a constant fanfare.
This car is making me grow up. No?
