Ideas please!!

With the engine running the nearside indicators flash at an increased frequency - as you would expect if a bulb was not functioning - although they are all o/k.

With the engine off indicators repeat at the normal frequency.

Hazard lights function o/k with and without the engine running.

On my third TVR now, so used to sorting probs. but this one has me confused!!

Not a great deal of help. But I have exactly the same problem. I have had an auto electrician and 2 TVR specialists try to sort the problem with no joy. Came to the conclusion, that it was a minor annoyance and I would just have to put up with it. I would be interested if you find the cause

Sorted - there is a small PCB (called an "indicator failure detection unit" ) located in the drivers side door pillar - remove the speaker panel to gain access. The PCB is wrapped in insulation tape which had helped to retain water / condensation? causing the PCB to corrode - common problem apparently. The replacement part cost £35. Forget the insulation tape.

Hi Andrew,

My speakers are only in the back. Is this PCB located in the front? Whereabouts on the door pillar is it? Is it the panel down near the fuseboard?

The trim panel that the rear speaker in mounted in has to be removed.

Method:

1. slide drivers seat forward.
2. Remove a self tapping screw located at the bottom of the trim panel.
3. Pull a small section of the door seal away - were it retains the trim panel near the seat belt.
4. The trim panel including speaker can now be removed.
5. The PCB is located behind the door catch.

Hope this helps!

Andrew,

Thanks. I needed an idiots guide. but didn't want to admit it.

I sometimes think that I have the wrong car for a mechanical incompetent.

Happy that I can sort it from here.
