Bought a Tuscan yesterday
Discussion
After resisting the temptation to buy a T350 (with the assistance of members) I finally cracked and went out to buy a very reasonably priced 2000 4.0L Tuscan.
She is a beauty and drives like no other machine I've experienced before but has a couple of gremlins -
1. Drivers window makes a cracking sound when nearing the top and upon operating the remote locking.
2. Oil pressure reading is erratic - when idling it drops to 14 PSI and when reaching 80 - 90 goes up to 99PSI
3. Also when getting towards 90 there is slight vibration
I'll do a search of the forum but would be grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Good Luck with your car. Here are some possible answers to your questions.
1. The Window could be out of allignment and snagging on the bar that pushes it up. Get the dealer/indie to whip the door card cover off and take a look..
2. Tuscan Oil pressure senders are notorious. I'm on my 4th (3 this year) they are about 20 quid.
3. Vibration could be due to tracking/balancing. Tuscans can go out of alignment quite quickly.
Cheers.

Well done - enjoy.
As has been previously mentioned oil pressure readings are notoriously erratic. But 14 at idle is not particularly low. My first Tuscan used to read 12 at idle and 70 plus at speed. My second one reads 48 when at speed.
Vibration at 90 / pod shake etc.. may be down to tyres or wheel balancing.
Lets hope you get a good summer for hooning.
Thanks men thats very helpful.
Am I best leaving removing the door card and bonnet to the pro's or is it possible to have a look your self?
Another little quirk I've found is the washers aren't working - you can hear the motor and what sounds like water under the bonnet - presume I've got a pipe come un-done?
Bit of a handful in the wet - lets hope for some decent weather ASAP!

I strongly suggest you take your car down to see Ian at Torque TVR (AKA Middlewich MOT centre)He will check the car over for you & if any faults need fixing he is far cheaper than any dealer & if you read threads on North West forum you will see how highly he is recommended.
You can contact him on 01606 831244 (Usually till about 3am as he is a workaholic!)
Any more queries send me an e-mail i've had mine for over a year now & it is fantastic!

Would also recommend Ian at Middlewich he's the dogs danglies, my services with Ian have been nowhere near 590 and that includes the VAT, in fact half the time its difficult to get him to tell you what you owe him - which reminds me must get down there and pay him.
I like Chris Neils, but I like Ian better and he's cheaper on the wallet - take it there but don't expect to get home any time soon he's a workaholic and great at what he does.
You'll have a great time with your new purchase. I've had mine a few weeks now and love it.
Still trying to get used to all the attention the car gets. People taking photos of it, crowds standing around it when it's parked up!
Such an ego boosting machine! Makes Porshches and Italian exotics look plain and boring!
