Door niggles...
Discussion
My drivers door has dropped slightly now causing the door securing bolt to mark the paintwork around the lock. Am sure this is not uncommon and recall having a similar issue with my Griff.
Asked my main dealer in Bath in fix but they bodged it by filing the securing bolt down and creating a potentially worse fit. They suggested I take it to an independant coachworks for removal/ refit and painting!! Clearly not happy to do this and very unimpressed with main dealer service - is there anyway I can adjust the door myself? We are talking a very minor adjustment after all...
Many Thanks!

Are you sure the door has dropped and it's not just the pin that's moved?
Mine keeps working loose and is quite common IIRC.
Just needs tightening up in the correct position - I use a pair of water pump pliers and a small tommy bar. Takes a while to find the ideal spot, but easy after a few goes.....

Here you go mate....
You just need to grip the shaft (oo-er!!) with the pliers, and use the tommy-bar (inserted in one of the holes - ooooo-eeeeer!!) to unscrew the bolt from the door (the nut is captive inside the door - it won't spin so no worries taking the door card out or anything).
Move the bolt whichever way is needed (small amounts at a time) - then use the above method to tighten it again.
Check the door shut is ok (and the window still shuts - as this is controlled from the small microswitch in the lock!), and you're away!
As I said - it will probably take a few goes to get it spot on - but when you find the right position - mark it with tippex or paint pen or similar (you may even see a witness mark on the original paint where the pin has been sitting) - and next time it happens (and it will!!) the process will be much quicker and easier.
Hope this helps....
