My Tuscan had a new clutch put on it about 6000 miles ago. Ever since I've owned it (about 1500 miles worth) the clutch has dragged ever so slighty and the pedal has to be pushed right to the floor to engage first. Once on the move it's fine and doesn't require full depression. It hasn't got any worse over time either.

The fluid level is ok and there are no signs of any leakage anywhere either. I'm hoping that it's just badly adjusted and will be a fairly easy fix. Anyone here know how to adjust the clutch engage/disengage point?

Cheers,
Dave

You can alter the length of the threaded pushrod that operates the master cylinder behind the pedal. There is a lock nut at the end that attaches to the pedal and then turning the rod the relevant direction alters it.

Be careful not to adjust it too far, though, as there's no protection on the Tusc from over-pressing the clutch.

Cheers guys. I had a little fiddle around today and lengthened both the pedal and piston rods a little. I adjusted it so that when the pedal is to the floor, the clutch is just past the point where it stops dragging. There should now be sufficient clutch travel for it to operate normally yet without over extending the diagphram spring.

An update.....

after 7 days driving around various places in the UK and covering about 1500 miles, including a track day (Which left the engine running like a sack of spuds. Duff coil pack and HT leads. Many thanks to Gatwick TVR for swiftly sorting that one).....the slave cylinder popped as I was about to put the car into the garage back at home.

Anyone know who has any in stock?
