Windscreen Woes.....
Discussion
Just to say that my Tuscan has been off the road for over a week due to Autoglass making a dog's dinner of fitting the replacement.
They told me to wait 6 weeks for a replacement - TVR Power had 30 in stock??
When I called them with this info the new screen arrived the 2 days later!! nothing like chasing people up!
1st attempt.........black silicon disaster, the stuff looked like Stevie Wonder had been involved with the fit. big finger print marks all the way up both sides of the screen, the screen was squint, the trim was all stuck back on lop sided!
One call later and they agreed to come back and fix properly.....
2nd attempt.........same technician comes back, removes all the silicon then freaks out and tells me it's too complex for him to handle and promptly jumps into his van and f**ks off!!
By this stage I am fuming...luckily my local gargage where happy for the car to have a wee holiday with them as the car was not driveable due to the loose windscree.
Two days later....supposed expert gets called in to repair the shabolic state - even the paintwork has black silicon stuck all over it.
Due to see the car tomorrow but not holding my breath for a fantastic job!!
I appreciate this thread is a complete moan but I feel other owners should be prepared for similar things.

sympathise with your troubles..
fortunately when I had the same, phone call to Bryan @ Fernies suggested this to be a potential issue and after consultation with my insurance company - Direct Line, they authorised Fernhurst to do it directly.
Should always try this route before giving it to the cowboys.. it is an acknowledged issues within the normal glass repairers

Last year Autoarse had 3 attempts at my screen before I gave up, and insurance agreed to take it to C. Neils. AG paid for them to fit it, but no apology for all the time my car was off the road. Never use them again.
Windscreen cracked again on M6 the other week so took it to Automedon, great job, now waiting to see how much will get back from insurance.
