Best Dealers in London & South East?
Discussion
Am now enjoying my second year of Tuscan 1 ownership, with only one big bang (gearbox) over 11,000 miles.
I have had 2 bad experiences with dealers in my 2 years (mentioning no names) from 2 separate dealers who I arbitraged against each other.
Dealer one, told me 4,000 miles ago (7 months) that my baby was going to go bang, did I want to re-build now at a reduced cost than if I left it to go bang.... Hmmm
Dealer two, told me this was bull, checked the cam and emissions and said I should go merrily on my way...... hmmm
I took dealer two's advice and continued to merrily pop bang around with no problems.
Now since new gearbox (which was before all this) the clutch started getting tight and I was finding it increasingly difficult to change gear.
So back to dealer two a month ago, whose advice was good with my last experience, for their diagnosis which was...... New clutch, £1300+vat!!!
I couldn't believe this as the clutch was inspected when the new box was fitted and passed as OK.
In the end, I took my love round to a good old friend in the racing industry (nothing to do with TVR's) who bled the clutch in 15 mins, adjusted the pedal in 5 mins and had me on my way for free!
The car now drives beautifully, smoothest gear change since I've owned it on both boxes.
So come on, enough is enough, can anyone just tell me of an honest firm looking to do an honest job for honest money?

My concern is, that from your location, you may have already tried my recommendation ??, but seeing as you're asking.......I've always found Walldonway at Larkfield excellent, certainly not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but Paul Wood the service manager down there is a top bloke, and always found him and their service team first class.
Maybe not a dealer, but the guys at Austec are spot on and Paul (the owner) is a great down to earth guy that runs a business that work for the love of TVRs. Not the cheapest, but defo the best in my opinion when i had my chim. I drove the car from North Kent all the way to Crawley everytime i needed something done on it.
