Tuscan Mk2 microwave alarm

The microwave alarm sensor used to be sensitive enough that if you walked within 1 foot of the car especially in the warm weather the alarm went off. This was a bit of a nuisance as my alarm is linked to the mobile phone which rang to tell me someone was around the car. I asked my local TVR dealer to turn the sensitivity down. I have now got the car back and today I forgot that I had locked the car reached in head shoulders and arms to retrieve my mobile phone strange thing is the alarm never went off.
This is now cause for concern should the microwave be set high like I had it to prevent opportunist toe rags helping themselves to you bits. Or de-sensitised like my dealer has re-set it. I'm told this is normal when you desensitise the alarm. It’s (all or nothing) that seams wrong to me anybody got any ideas is there no middle ground I would like it to go off when you put your hand just inside the roof line. As its set at the moment unless you open the door the alarm won’t go off I’m told.
