I've noticed that my boot is becoming harder to close recently.

It requires effort to push down on the boot lid, right above where the catch is.

Anyone know if it's possible to adjust the boot so that it catches easier?

Yep you can adjust the top catch, IIRC just undo the two screws, move the bracket down and lock the screws back up.
