Brake light switch.
Discussion
Hello Folks,
My brake lights stayed firmly on for the last day or so, but found this little crettin to be the cause. Its under the rolled alloy pedal box cover.
Post just for information, but its a bit fiddly to get out. (Small allen key and long nose pliers best)
Wires fit to outer terminals, both of which are green on my 2000 model.

Wow! Spooky.....
I noticed my brake lights were stuck 'on' two nights ago.
Seems like either the pedal isn't returning to rest every time or the microswitch is on the way out - it doesn't 'click' every time the pedal is depressed / released.
Was going to have a look this afternoon, but it was too bloody hot to be messing around in the footwell....
Maybe tomorrow......
BTW - How's things Justin?

Simulated roller --- gggggrrrrreat! Might peel my very good roller off and remount it!!!

Things are OK here in Kettering. Car is running very well, and feels smooth. Its pulling stronger now 3000 miles after the Austec rebuild. Its due its MOT soon so will talk to Austec about this.
That wiring diagram would be brilliant Neill. Do you want me to buy you one of these Neill and post it down, I will have them tomorrow?
Hows stuff down there mate?

Pretty good cheers!
I'll be down at Austec today - I've got lots of stuff to do in the dyno cell....
Dropping mine off for its 36k service on thursday too.
Almost wish it would go bang so I could have a nice upgraded engine - the 4.2 sounds interesting
PM me so I can send you the wiring diagram (just to make sure it goes to the right place)
ATB mate
