Tailpipe angle????????
Discussion
just wondering what the set angle for the tailpipes is. Ive got the standard carbon cans. They look more like theyre running just above parallel with the ground as opposed to some ive seen in the classifieds that are aiming more to the sky. Is it worth adjusting??? ie is a bracket gettin more stress than it should? bit of a bone question but hey its better than workin!!!
Unrepentant,
Off at a bit of a tangent, but I see you've got carbon cans on an '05 car - I had heard that the factory would claim that the fitment of non-standard exhausts affects the engine and hence the warranty is no longer valid - did you discuss this with the dealer?
I've got a Tuscan 2, and quite fancy carbon cans, so would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks,
Richard

Yeah I know where you are coming from and on my first Tuscan I didn't have them because of that reason, but the fact is that many people have them fitted by their dealers to brand new cars fresh from the factory. (I know of one friend who had them removed from her old Tuscan and fitted to the new one as part of the PDI). Some dealers are also now selling them I believe? I have also heard on here of several cars that have been back to the factory for no charge rebuilds with CCC cans fitted.
My dealer fitted the cans to my car for me and I am sure that he wouldnt have done so if he had any concerns.
(BTW - they are awesome. The popping on the over run is magic and enhances the ownership enjoyment immensely IMO. And at cruising speed they are no more intrusive than the standard cans. They should be fitted as standard IMO
). As my dealer said, how would the factory know? If an engine claim is necessary they are taken out of the car and crated up, or even if the car was sent on a trailer to the factory tis the work of five minutes and a 10mm spanner to pop the originals back on.
I have heard that the sharknose cans had quality issues and dealers were not fitting them until the issue had been resolved, plus they make a different sound to the CCC ones.
I've got CCC and they rock! They set car alarms off everywhere and get disapproving looks from fusty old dudes so they are great in my book!

Sounds as though the rear rubber mounts have gone.

My previous Tuscan had CCC cans & were not mentioned when the engine had to have some FOC work after four years.
My new Tuscan S has as standard Blue Flame titanium cans, the sound deadening material only goes about 2/3rds of the way along & they sound really good although not a loud as the CCC’s.
