Hi Paul, can't help with the book but an EFI fault is usually cases by wet electrics either rain or in your case washing it I guess. Nothing to worry about, it goes when it dries

Apart from water related, most of the efi warning and running problems i've had have been lambda sensor related. My cars been through about 5 so far.

Have you got the diagnostic software as that helps? If not I will mail it to you. You will need to either make up a serial lead or buy one.

hi all, ive had the following new parts fitted to try & rectify the efi fault & other things, i.e. a small leak from oil pump.
1, lambda probes
2, water & oil temp sensors,
3, oil pressure sensor, seals & belt.
4, new plugs & leads checked (ok)
5, ecu unplugged ( to try & reset display )

now instead of the fault being there when the ignition is switched on it only appears when engine is started,, and then sometimes only when its warmed up to about these temps. (water 73, oil 50), ive yet to make the diagnostic cable which im making today. Can i use the ecu software to rectify it ?, any ideas as to what els i can do apart from ship the car back to u.k. which i only wanted to do at service time really. also ive got the following fault codes, J & E, J is a new one since i had the oil pump work done, i know what they mean, but can i fix them, if so how?

Many thanks
Paul
