EFI fault queiry , please help
Discussion
Hi all
I am a fairly new Tuscan owner had the car 2 months , Mk 1 Tuscan 2000 Paradise Purple and love it . I`ve had a few minor teething problems , now pretty well ironed out by an excellent Northern dealership .
Now all of the sudden for no reason I am getting a " EFI Fault " warning that I can`t clear ( I have tried to reset the read out by pressing the foglight button and the screen change bezzle )I have had this problem once before but put it down to the ECU module being damp after heavy rain and indeed the problem resolved itself after warming the car up and putting the heater on full .
This time the previous remedy doesn`t do the trick , it also seems to be accompanied by intermittant missing .
Any ideas would be most welcome

hi
i had a similiar prob with mine, had it 3 weeks now, still got the efi fault but the missing i had was after rain gathered on the car cover bonnet area, so i had plug change dried dis,cap.. the plugs were fouled an after changing car has run fine since, .. still in middle of resoloving efi fault.....

Thanks for the reply Paul, engine not missing anymore , but EFI fault still displayed , have been advised the ECU will need its` log clearing ( ie it will need hooking up to computer to clear the fault from the pod display ), this may well be the remedy you also require !
Thanks again
Thanks again
You say the car is not running too smoothley, You might need to chjeck the oxygen sensors or even the throttle boddies. Mine had the exact same problem, throttle bodies where checked and Ok, one of the sensors was faulty and now been fixed.
I need to get the EFI wearning light switched off by my local TVR specialist but it should only cost a few quid.
If the buzzer is doing your head in, you can switch it off using the Pod menu feature.

I spoke to a main dealer and my nearest " indie " , they both said pretty much the same as you . I think it is water ingress from the recent heavy rain as all was fine before ..... alarm also sounding ( pretty loud it sounds infact , especially at 2am !!!!! )for no good reason , no intruders in sight .
I am going to local indie tomorrow to get a computer strapped to it to reset the fault indication , anything for a spin , just a shame I won`t have the normal display for the drive , but hope all will be well .
Rain !!!!!!
