Tyres sizes on a S
Discussion
Just noticed I'm running 255/35/18 Proxies all round, and from what I've read in the owner handbook standard fit should be front 235/40/18 and rear 245/40/18, is this lightly to cause any issues? anyone running a similiar setup? only ask as I'm due to get the wheels refurbed in and would prefer to change tyres then if need be....thanks
255/35/18s all round are the factory suggested fitment for a Tuscan S. Ordinary Tuscans were initially fitted with 225/35/18 front and 255/35/18 rear.
This was subsequently changed by the factory to 235/40/18 front and 245/40/18 rear, (as per your manual),giving a slightly more forgiving ride and a larger footprint for the front tyre.

Just looked through this post and I'm thinging maybe I need to change my tyre sizes. I have a standard Tuscan 2 with 235/40 R18 on the front and 245/40 R18 on the rear but I've just had the susspension changed to "S" suspension as I was finding the standard stuff a little soft on the track. Any thoughts guys?
lowest,
I think you would need to check the width of your current rims before changing the tyres.
I have a feeling that standard Tuscans have 8" or 8 1/2" rims on the front with 9" rears whereas Tuscan S have 9" all round.
A 255/35/18 tyre on a 8" or 8 1/2" rim may not be a good thing.
Hopefully someone more technical will be along shortly to confirm or deny!
Mark.

The 2S has 18x8.5 rims all around and is fitted with 255s. fitting 255s on an 8in rim is not a good idea
Would I gain any advantage from fitting the wider rims in the front along with the wider tyres? The car is used everyday but it's main propose in life is as a track day car.
