Wheelarch paint?

Getting some flaking inside the wheelarch and above the cans so hopefully during the winter months a tidy up and repaint is on the cards, any preference on whats best to use?? thanks in advance

Hi,
depends on what facilities you have access to? Compressor and spray gun is best as you can, to some degree control the thickness of paint therefore the finish will be a little more resistant to wear and tear.
If you just use your bog standard spray can you'll be doing it on a more regular basis but it still works and is quicker and safer if you haven't used this set up before.
We did up a really old mini once, after spending 4 years on a bolts up 1275 rebuilt, nothing special kept it standard with a nice coat of 2K. We used to spray black celly up under the wheel arches just before judging and it worked every time, it won more than the bolts up 1275.

Check out these people they offer some superb restoration paints and equipment. I think you will find what you are looking for. I have bought the gloss chassis black to use on my wheel arch inners, this is one of the jobs for over winter. The Dinitrol is superb for protecting the chassis tubulars.

I have to do this job too - as my mum has a chandlery she gave me some black boat paint, i.e., for fibreglass - that should do the job right?

I would suspect so.... yacht paint lasted years on my old window sills, but then that didn't get pelted with rock salt and stone chippings, but it was damn tough paint and very flexible.
