Sounds like the servo motor that controls the heater flaps,it has plastic gears which wear out over time and you end up with no heating at all.

Mine went on my previous Tuscan although I did not get round to replacing it, but it is located here:-

The cover has to be removed & apparently it's more difficult if you have aircon fitted.

Think I've got the same problem, anyone got any idea of a guide price?

Cheers, need to budget for a heater fix (winters on its way) and a new LCD screen.

this is interesting, since it was colder today I noticed a lack of hot air. An idea of the price for this part and if it is straightforward to fit would be appreciated.

A replacement flap motor is about £35 , although don't know about fitting it.

Just a thought, to head off a potential shortage of parts, does anybody have a list of alternative parts or services that could be used? I know that there is now a choice of suppliers for clutches, slave cylinders and dash pod repairs. What about things like brake pads or anything else that can be sourced from elsewhere by other manufacturers?

it is possible that you have pushed the pipe which ducts the air from the heater outlet to the underside of the dash.

it's a J shaped pipe about 4" diameter which you can get to from the passenger footwell. as you push the heater box back into position it would be very easy to knock it off

I found this problem with mine whilst investigating lack of hot air this weekend
