I did a running report with my Saggy and although it was a new car then (and therefore of more interest to people) I can't contain my excitement for the tuscan so here's the deal if anyone's interested.

I bought the car last month from stock at the TVR centre but didn't like the interior and had it retrimmed at the factory to full hide to suit my personal taste. The good thing about this was the car reappeared a week or so ago with the new sparco seats which look great and are very comfortable.

I think the 'vert' interior works well and looks great, apart from I can't read the tops of the instruments but assumed I had this covered from the digital readout having a rev counter like the Sagaris. But alas it appears not too. The only other gripe was the steering wheel isn't quite straight on dead ahead. I know this is common with many cars and I fully expected my Sagaris to be a little off but it was always spot on. Is there an easy fix for this?

Other than this all seems well and there are no rattles or squeaks to speak of. The doors take longer to open than the Saggy/t350 type but seems to have a more solid and weighty clunk to them when you shut them. The steering as expected is even quicker to turn in than the Sagaris but feel is similar and therefore very good.

Trouble is the car is oh so gorgeous to look at I can forgive it anything at the moment. I really think the tuscan (both Mks) is one of the all time great looking cars from any marque and washing it by hand is going to be a genuine pleasure!

I'll definitely be at the London run thing in support of the workers at TVR. Mine's a reflex charcoal Tuscan S.

Congrats mate!! I'm green with envy but agree completely - the Tuscan, for me, is simply the best!! As much as I love my MK1RR Tusc, I have a long-term hope of upgrading to a MK2 S some day...

Are you gonna post some pics or wha? thumbup

the last photo hosting site I used has shut down. What are you lot using these days?

As already mentioned the Sagaris has superbly sorted handling and is very confidence inspiring. My advice is take it to the track, whether it's wet or dry you'll be amazed by the thing. In fact it's more fun in the wet on a track than any 380bhp/1100kg car has a right to be.

Andy, I think you'd be surprised how much the Tuscan 2 has in common with the mk1 (that's a good thing for me as I've always wanted one). For starters I've got a mk1 owners manual in the little tvr wallet! In a straight line there's nothing in it either, in fact I've been told that the speed six has never pumped out more power than it did in 2003. So I think the wick has been slightly turned down on later cars in the quest for greater reliability. Wouldn't surprise me and probably not such a bad idea either! No problems with the Saggy so I guess it worked.

My word that thing is great looking, pitty about it's ugly mate!

Looking at it creates strong urges to drive it. Mine will be the rc tuscan at 'London Thunder' with 'running in' in the back window!

silly little thing this but tuscs metal TVR nose badges are so much nicer than the Saggy oval plastic ones...

the jury's still out on anthracite wheels. It's my natural inclination to go for them but I'm not so sure now with reflex charcoal...

ps thanks YZF and uncle dave! I'll do my best to snap some of the new seats and post them up.

as noses go, the tuscan's is right up there...

the first stone chip will physically hurt me!

ps the little lights that look like fog lights are actually indicators in disguise, for those that didn't already know

the pits. looks v.cool, more pictures and more detailed driving description please vs. Saggy. Amused to see you parked it in a trucks only space! should be compulsory at all TVR dealers for Ferrari/lambo owners. Any tasty exhaust options to liberate the Tuscan 6? Are all mechanicals bar the suspension same as Saggy? eg brakes, gearbox. Any idea what they have put your Saggy on for?

The Pits that’s a very nice looking Tuscan2 S, nearly went for that colour myself, what are the interior colours? The ability to see the top of the instrument is not very good particularly for the rev counter, but I have just got use to using the change up lights with the green one being set to 2500 RPM for warm up purposes. What was the original production date of yours? Just interested as I thought mine was one of the last to be produced at Blackpool.Maybe see you in London on the 26th.

Yep sure is nice that and I have to say I am warming more to the asthetics of the Tuscan 2 front end. I wasn't keen on its TOO smooth looks to start with but it does look damn tasty in that colour. Look forward to seeing some pics of the interior.

Cheers

as you can see it's not just the colour, but the superb paint finish that makes it look so edible! In fact the whole fit and finish of everything inside and out is very impressive.

Nick, I'm not sure about it's build number but it would be interesting to find out. But I'm pretty sure it had been hanging around the dealer for a while. I could be wrong but I think we may have met on a eurotunnel when I had my Sagaris. If so it was partly your tuscan that made me want to get one! How about that...

More driving impressions vs the Sagaris? It's a bit early to tell yet but the tuscans are less snargly and gurgly than the Sagaris and they sound a bit smoother (to me a good thing overall). I was happy to hear the muted pops and bangs going on at the back on the overrun though, I didn't think Tuscans did this. An exhaust and de-cat (surely justifiable on envrionmental grounds alone?!) are definitely on the cards. The best looking one I've seen is done by racing green so they can expect a call after first service. As expected the narrower track makes the car dart into corners quicker and it already feels very grippy, with the Sparco's being put to use already. They feel good and importantly just as, if not more comfortable than the old seats. I bought the Tuscan to do miles not go round the track. Support is better but only a bit, it's not exactly a racing bucket. That said the one major drawback is you can't remove the seat cushions, something track day fans will miss. But overall you guide the Tuscan into a bend where you can literally throw the Sagaris. But that is it's strong point just like the tuscan's is for me, the ability to take the roof off. Down a bumpy narrow road I still think the better ride and ground clearance of the tuscan makes it have the edge but on a smooth A road the Sagaris feels very planted.

interior pics on their way.

nice! I saw that car at the TVR Centre. I would be very interested to see what colour changes you went for on the interior, or was it simply to change it to full hide!

Ask Martin(service mgr) about de-catting it, he can source some de-cat pipes for you, coupled with some CCC's on the back and you will be making some major pops and bangs!

Can't remember seeing the Sagaris on the eurotunnel recently, although in June or maybe August 2005 someone told me there was also a Sagaris on the same crossing, I was in my Altantis Helcyon MK1 Tuscan at the time.

Picked up a Reflex Charcoal Tuscan 2 S myself a couple of weeks ago from Castle (This one is an 05'). I had the wheels changed to Anthracite - personal choice - but I think the car looks the business either way!
